Where are we?

Time to get Packing! :)

Wow, hard to believe that tomorrow we leave for Holland! Time has gone fast this summer. Even though snow came to Edmonton VERY early this year - Sept 13th! Luckily it never stayed for more then a couple of days :)  But is was pretty cool in the trailer for a couple of days.

We did take a break from the cool weather and flew to Comox Sept 17th to visit relatives. At least we did get sun for a couple of days before the rain started there. We celebrated my mother in law's 94th birthday with a family dinner. Fun to see and visit everyone again. Also got in a nice long bike ride before the rain started - always so nice to ride with all the beautiful cedar trees along the side of the roads.

There are always deer walking around Comox, even right downtown!

Lots of big orange pumpkins ready to be picked at the local veggie vendor

Near the end of September made a road trip out to Kelowna to visit our daughter and family.  Got to see my grandson (7) play hockey - his first year.  He really enjoys the game. Not sure how long my daughter will want to be a "hockey mom" with all the travelling and costs required even at this young age!  The weather was wonderful so it allowed me to finally hike up the 3km trail to the top of Mount Boucherie. Very challenging for me so I felt great once I got to the top! I had tried it a couple of years ago taking along the family dog Max the golden retriever. But he was panting harder then I was and we were only at the 1.5km mark. He didnt want to take any water from my hand that I had poured from my water bottle, so decided to take him back. After that it always seemed to hot, to wet, to something for me to try again. Then the perfect day arrived and I just went for it.  Later that day I told my 7 yr old grandson about the hike and he said that he wanted to also do it. So we planned to do it the next day. When we headed out I didnt expect him to go much further the 1.5km. But once we got to that spot he just kept on going! Talking all the way and really enjoying the hike and the views. So I was totally surprised when we made it right to the top! Great hike for us both :)

After returning to Edmonton we stayed at my sister's place since the trailer was already put into storage, only have 2 weeks left but decided to cold out to really enjoy staying in it!

For Thanksgiving weekend we headed to the cabin near Edson with our son and his family. Had a great weekend visiting, eating, drinking and quadding! We had great weather so could enjoy nice bonfires outside at night.

Afternoon snacks around the fire pit

Turkey dinner :) along with our daughter in law's parents

Beautiful day to be out on the quads

On our drive back to Edmonton on Thanksgiving Monday we were surprised how much snow fell and actually stayed! But lucky for everyone staying here, the snow melted by Friday and next week's weather forecast is in the double digits!! We hope that we will have the same great weather while we are in Amsterdam! Lots of walking to be done there :)

Happy to say this snow has now melted :)

Now I better get organized and get packed!
